We know many of you have attended the Civil War Ball, remember this is a required class. You will need to communicate with Sharlane
Participant/Observer: Anyone 12 years and older. We ask that each participant or observer, be at least 12 years old. Younger children or babies will not be allowed into the ball. We really want this to be an event for older children and adults. At least one parent/guardian must be on the premises at all times to supervise their children.
: Civil War uniforms – 100 officer’s and enlisted uniforms (20 fancier officer’s uniforms)
Women: Ladies will need to provide themselves with a ball gown somewhat appropriate to the era. This can be done by altering something you already have; purchased from a thrift store; or renting one.
Dresses should be modest.
PLEASE NOTE: In keeping with the standard originally set by our first Civil War Ball, we request all ladies be modestly dressed. Our definition of modesty is no strapless, spaghetti strap, backless, off the shoulder dresses, and no cleavage showing (please bend over and check your dress,). Your signature on the consent form says that you have read our guidelines and agree with these standards. If everyone complies then we will all have a great time. If you have questions, please call me, Susan, 970-481-3357. I would be very happy to help you decide if the gown would be appropriate or not. There will be a dress check at the door to guarantee everyone complies with the dress standard. Anyone with inappropriate attire will be asked to modify their dress or leave. No refunds will be given. Unfortunately, we have had several complaints about individuals not following the dress code.
NOTE: Please make sure your email is legible, this is the way we communicate, so if you forget it or it is not legible you may miss out on some important announcements!
For additional information, please contact Sharlane White,
or Susan Roseveare, 481-3357.
